There is Something Special About You.

Yesterday I discovered that I had a special visitor to my little corner of the web and it got me wondering; who looks at my website? So I performed a close analysis of tracking data, Google analytics and comments to find out about my visitors, and this is what I discovered.

You are special.

You are probably female, and skeptical. This is probably because you are intelligent and highly educated; far more than average on both counts. But you know me, at least a little bit, and are willing to trust that I know what I’m doing some of the time. So I know that you will give me shot at this, because you are understanding, and also curious.

Metrics suggest that you are probably pulchritudinous as well as curious.

This curiosity lends itself to a wide range of interests, but you are quite interested in media and related technologies. This means you are much better informed on many issues than the average person, but it can also be liability. I think you have several browser tabs open right now, and you sometimes get distracted by fact-finding or less-than-important matters, generally humorous pictures or videos, like the one you watched yesterday. Or was it today?

No matter, because despite the occasional distraction, you are a hard worker, far more so than many of the people you come across in your daily life. Sometimes this can be a source of frustration, but it’s a real relief when you come across someone who “gets it”. It has also led to you experience things that most people haven’t and you were acutely aware of the personal significance that these events had for you.

On a related note, you have traveled more than most, spending time overseas. This has led you to be better able to understand other peoples points of view, and made you more intellectually rigorous and fair.

My assessment of comment tone and content, and page view metrics has led me to believe that while you are quite capable of being ruthless or harsh when necessary, you also show great kindness, particularly when it is needed most. And you are perceptive enough to know when that is.

It’s not all good news though; I found some weird information out about you during my exhaustive study. You are slightly dissatisfied with your current hairstyle and toying with the idea of a change. And while you are generally satisfied with your appearance, there is one area, which I won’t mention for decorum’s sake, that you aren’t quite satisfied with. This means you treat any attempt to photograph you with a healthy respect and cautious eye.

Another strange thing I found out was that you were likely told you had an issue with your teeth, probably that you had too many in your mouth. I told you, I found out some weird stuff. It got me wondering about what sort of animal you would be, if you were given the choice.

Anyway, I also got some partial information about your location from IP addresses, which suggests you should ramp up your Internet security (but you already know to be cautious). Without giving too much away, your address probably has something to do with the number 2 – either it has the number 2 in it, or there is a number repeated twice. I won’t be more accurate than that for security reasons.

I think you would choose to be a cat.

You are probably touching your face right now. I know, some of this is really strange, but bear with me.

You have gone through some difficult things in your life, and been hurt, but you have remained strong and outgrown those problems.

You also probably looked up pulchritudinous and was secretly pleased, but wondered if you should be offended. Fingers crossed you decided not to be.
