What My Name Means For My Future

by Jake on July 7, 2009

I was googling myself today (I know, shut up) and I discovered the meaning behind my surname “Corcoran“. It’s of Gaelic origin (which I knew), and it’s orginal root “corcair” meant “purple” (which I didn’t know). My full first name, “Jacob,” means “holder of the heel” or “supplanter” (from the biblical story of Esau and Jacob. Jacob took over his family’s inheritance through deception and trickery, but was eventually reconciled with his older brother).

So what do we get when we combine the two into “Jacob Corcoran” – aside from a keyword rich article (shutupshutupshutup)? We get Supplanter Purple, or Supplanter of Purple.

How does this relate to my future? Like this:

teletubby

I am the spiritual successor to the Teletubby Tinky-Winky. My fate is clear.

I do hope you weren’t expecting this post to go anywhere.

What does your name mean for your future?

Are we talking buttsecks?

Amanda means lovable, so clearly, I’m going to be loved by many. Clearly. :P

LOL. It’s interesting what we find out and how we interpret our findings. :D

I know my first name has several different meanings, depending on which culture you go for. I just wished people knew how to pronounce my name right ~_~;;

Amanda: I just like the magic bag. And clearly your name is spot on…

*cough*

Tara: I do think the most interesting part of this post is the insight you get into the connections my brain makes. I often get called “Jack” when I introduce myself as Jake. No one ever stuffs up Jacob.

Hmm, maybe I should learn something from that.

Haha, Tinky-Winky…
My first name means Queen in latin, so maybe in the future I’ll be the ruler of a country/the whole world? :P *is not plotting to take over the world. at all.*

If you did, obviously you should put a tomato rose on your crest – that thing was killer! If I tried I’d end up with tomato soup.
